She Put All Her Eggs in One Basket

I've heard that Tiffany and Company patented this color. How could they?

Four days ago a robin redbreast made a nest in one of my hanging baskets on the deck. Every day she lays an egg. This is what it looked like yesterday morning. I just managed to come out here with my coffee without disturbing Ms. Birdie. I admire her patience and fortitude — even though she chose a somewhat unwise nesting spot near a sliding door. She sits for hours contentedly without having to do anything at all. Ahhh….

  2. Poor birdies. When we got back from vacation we found a scene of death and destruction. Momma birdie dead in the nest. Dad dead on the deck. Babies, which had hatched the day before we left, gone. Feathers and stuff scattered. Awww!!! We had babied those babies, tiptoed around them….
